Mayhem Paintball Games

 

Players.

 

The minimum age is 12 years old if the player is under 18 years of age parental consent on a Mayhem release and rental agreement is required before players can participate.

 

Safety Risk.

 

  • Players must be given a briefing appropriate to the risk of the event. With safety warnings of, the potential risks, of lifting goggles in playing areas due to flying paintballs.

 

  • A demonstration of how the goggles adjust and should be worn including face eye and ear protection.

 

Safety Briefing.

 

  • It is explained that the goggles are to be worn at all times in paying areas.
  • No paintball markers are to be taken into safety areas. And no firing at anyone not, wearing safety goggles.
  • Players are told paintball is not a contact sport.
  • Players are told not to climb any trees or sheds.

 

 

Game Briefing.

 

The game briefing explains, how games are played and the objectives of each game.

 

The Paintball Marker

 

A demonstration is given to show how to aim, load and fire the marker and what to do if the marker stops working.

 

All games are fully supervised by Mayhem Staff at all times.

 

 

 

 

Hazard: Paintballs

Hazard Effect: (circle as appropriate) severe injury, minor injury, (state the effects) –

Failure to wear goggles in a game area could result in the loss of an eye.

1. Only equipment designed and approved for use in the sport of paintball is used. This includes paintballs, markers and safety equipment.

2. Players, marshals and those liable to come into direct contact with paintballs are briefed on the hazards.

3. Written confirmation is kept, of the brief, in the form of disclaimers and training records.

4. All playing areas are clearly marked and signed.

5. Boundaries of the site are clearly defined and signed to prevent access to members of the public

6. Approved goggles with ear and face protection worn at all times within the designated playing area

7. Markers are not allowed into the designated safe area without an approved barrel ‘bung’ or bag being fitted

8. Safe area netted and clearly designated. Netting is of a suitable height and strength to prevent paintballs from passing through or over

9. All markers regularly chronograph below 299 feet per second.

Hazard: Falls from a height

Hazard Effect: (circle as appropriate) severe injury, minor injury,

(State the effects) –

 

Breaking of an ankle, arm, leg or wrist.

1. Players/marshals or other personnel are not allowed to climb trees or other obstacles not designed for this purpose.

2. Buildings, bridges and other man-made obstacles are fitted with suitable handrails/barriers to prevent falls

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hazard: Slips trips and falls

Hazard Effect: severe injury, minor injury,(state the effects) –

Sprained or broken ankle grazed knees or elbows.

1. Players are advised to wear suitable footwear via the organiser prior to arriving on site

2. Where practicable all slipping/tripping hazards removed or clearly identified

3. All playing fields are regularly walked to identify and mark any new hazards
