Pink Cow Paintballing
The most exhilarating paintballing experience in London!
Set in the idyllic woodlands of Abridge, on Essex’s London borders, our unique playing fields have been designed by actual paintball players, so they provide the perfect scene for a strategic game and an adrenaline fuelled day! We are always growing and improving our site, this means we have been able to build an incredible fleet of genuine battle tanks, airplanes, helicopters, buses and off-road vehicles. With over three decades of experience, we certainly know how to play paintball.
Cutting-Edge Equipment
Our standard equipment includes thermal, double glazed goggles, meaning you’ll be free from fog when you’re going in for the kill. Accept no substitute! Our top of the range equipment ensures you’ll have the best possible chances of mowing down your opposition.
We have the very best paintballing markers, for a ruthlessly accurate aim. We cater for both kids’ and adults’ parties, as well as a wide range of celebrations. Our acclaimed and hugely popular ‘Call of Duty’ area allows you to live the game like never before! We have more tanks, helicopters, crashed planes, and troop carriers than any other paintball company.
Excellent Facilities
If we’re being honest, our true selling point has to be our indoor facilities- that’s right, you heard it, no portaloos! You get proper base-camp buildings, which come with showers and toilets. Water is easily available in every paintball arena, to keep you hydrated during a long day spent tracking down your opponents on the field. There are also safe areas in every location, so you can take time out, if you need to.
Paintball, Low-Impact Paintball & Mini Paintball
We really do have something for everyone! For those that enjoy the thrill of the game, but aren’t keen on getting hit, we offer low-impact paintball. The same great game, the same cutting-edge equipment, and the same battle intense objectives, just with more protection and a lower firing velocity!
The paintball markers used for low impact paintball have been adjusted so that when they fire a paintball, it leaves the barrel at a lower speed, meaning that its travelling at a much slower speed when it finally makes contact with you, resulting in a much smaller impact. The paintballs used for low-impact paintballing are also smaller than usual paintballs, meaning they are also lighter - this also helps with reducing the final impact. Because of this, low impact paintball is the activity of choice for many stag & hen dos, children’s parties, corporate and teambuilding activities, and for first time players.
For those up for a bit more of a challenge, normal paintballing offers an adrenaline fuelled adventure! The larger impact provides a bigger incentive to stay out of the way and take cover. Get ready to accomplish your mission objectives and lead your battle-hardened team to victory!
Mini paintball is a great option for younger players. Exclusively available for those aged 8-13; both low-impact and mini paintball are played in the same way traditional paintball is, just with reduced impact and more protection – making it a great way for younger players to enjoy the game.
All our activities are customisable to your groups needs. Give us a call to discuss your plans for your event and we will do our best to accommodate you!
Does Paintballing hurt?
Getting shot at by the enemy while trying to negotiate all manner of obstacles and terrain sounds more like a drill from an army training manual than it does something to do with your friends at the weekend, yet every year, hundreds of thousands of people take to paintballing arenas across the country to do just that.
While paintballing is loved equally by seasoned players and new players alike, all first-time players seem to want an answer to the same question – “does paintball hurt?”
So, does it? Well, the honest answer is that it entirely depends on a multitude of factors; and while we’re not just talking about pain thresholds, it’s a good place to start…
It’s impossible to give a complete answer to the question for the simple reason that we all have different pain thresholds and different reactions to pain. While some of us can cope with crazy amounts of pain, like kickboxers or anyone that’s ever given birth, others would much prefer to avoid it.
There’s no definitive pain scale, so it’s impossible to measure and compare how much it hurts from person to person. There is, however, always common sense to rely on – paintballs typically travel at around 200mph, so no matter what your tolerance level, you will feel it.
So, although we can’t comment on individual pain levels, we can tell you what will hurt more (and how to avoid it). Getting hit on exposed skin always hurts more – that’s why we provide you with overalls (they’re not just to keep you clean!). Our overalls cover everything above the ankle and below the chin, so you have a very minimal amount of exposed skin.
While the whole idea of paintballing is to avoid getting shot, its safe to assume you’ll be taking a hit at some point (unless you’ve had some sort of Special Ops training), so you’ll likely want to minimise the impact – and that means layering up!
It’s a good idea to bring a few light layers as the padding helps to minimise pain by absorbing some of the pressure from the paintballs. A thick, heavy layer might provide a lot of padding, but it can get pretty hot and sweaty really quickly and you’ll lose that extra protection when you take it off. Multiple light layers can be added and removed, keeping you toasty warm and padded. Long sleeve tops, long socks and gloves can also help – the more skin covered, the better!
Where on the body you get hit also accounts for some of the pain factor. Getting hit in the back, for example, can be more painful as there are often fewer muscles and fat protecting the spine (getting hit in the ankle will make you wince too).
That being said, most of our players equate the pain to being pinged with an elastic band. We provide overalls, body armour and goggles, ensuring that the majority of the body is covered. We also limit the speed and force at which the paintballs markers fire, as they are capable of firing at much higher velocities!
There is an element of risk in almost every activity, and the threat of getting shot is one of the things that makes paintball such a thrilling past time! It’s a safe pursuit with plenty of rules, regulations, and protective clothing thrown in to keep injuries down to a minimum – even if you do get hit, it’ll cause no lasting damage.
While it’s not completely pain-free, once the game begins and the adrenaline is pumping, you’ll most likely not even notice you’ve been hit, and if you do, you’ll just have to make sure it doesn’t happen again next time! No pain, no gain, right?
Why paintballing?
Aside from being a hell of a lot of fun, there are a multitude of benefits to playing paintball. The paintball community is a vast, diverse, and incredibly chatty bunch, and because of this, is a great way of meeting new people and making new friends. It’s also a great way of bonding with the friends you already have – nothing says team building like laying in a ditch together sheltering from the oncoming shots!
As well as this, paintball sites are, on the whole, entirely outdoor based; making them a great way to get started with outdoor adventure style activities. The perfect opportunity to get that much needed breath of fresh air after being cooped up for months!
Paintball is also a sneaky way of getting in some great exercise - the mission based nature of the game really does distract you from the work you’re putting it, making it an incredibly fun way to burn some calories!
